Do you accept insurance?

Yes, through our partnership with Alma, we are in-network with select plans (Aetna & Optum). Coverage depends on your specific policy. Clients are responsible for copays, coinsurance, and any non-covered services. We can begin to verify your insurance by visiting our secure patient portal here.

If we are out-of-network for your plan, we can provide a Superbill to submit for potential reimbursement.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), most HSA/FSA cards, and CareCredit for KAP packages.

What is the cancellation/missed appointment policy?

We require 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

  • Late cancellations: billed at half the session rate.

  • No-shows: billed at the full session rate.

What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)?

KAP combines the therapeutic use of ketamine (prescribed by a medical provider) with psychotherapy to support healing, nervous system regulation, and integration of insights into daily life.

We partner with Journey Clinical for the medical component (evaluation and prescription), while I guide the therapeutic sessions. Visit our KAP page to learn more.

Does my insurance cover KAP?

Insurance may cover the therapy portions of KAP (preparation and integration sessions) if your plan is eligible through Alma. Coverage depends on your specific policy, and clients are responsible for any copays, coinsurance, or non-covered services.

The medicine sessions and medical fees (such as your evaluation and prescription) are billed separately by Journey Clinical. Journey Clinical does accept insurance, so a portion of their services may be covered depending on your plan.

During consultation, we’ll review both our fees and Journey Clinical’s process with you, so you’ll have a clear picture of the overall investment and what may be covered by your insurance.

Do I need to commit to a KAP package?

No. KAP can be scheduled session by session. However, some clients choose a package for a structured arc of preparation, medicine, and integration sessions — which also provides cost savings.

Does Journey Clinical charge separately?

Yes. Journey Clinical bills for the required psychiatric evaluation, follow-up visits, and prescription costs. These are separate from our session fees. We will review their process during consultation so you know exactly what to expect.

Do you prescribe medication?

No, we do not prescribe medication. If you are pursuing Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Journey Clinical handles the medical evaluation and prescription process, separate from our therapeutic work.

How long do I need to be in therapy?

Therapy is a collaborative process and varies for each person. Many clients begin with weekly sessions. As you make progress toward your goals, we may move to biweekly or monthly. Some clients choose to return for “tune-up” sessions during transitional times.

What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session is a gentle introduction. We’ll review your intake information, explore your goals, and begin building safety and trust. You’ll leave with next steps and tools to support you between sessions.

Do you see couples or just individuals?

At this time, we primarily work with individual adults. If you’re seeking couples therapy, we’d be happy to provide referrals.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022), you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate for the cost of your care. This is meant to protect clients who are uninsured or not using insurance, so you have a clear idea of what to expect financially.

At Meraki Holistic Counseling, transparency is part of how we work. You will always know the cost of sessions through the website, intake paperwork, and during consultation. If you ever have questions about pricing, please ask — we’ll provide clear, direct information so there are no surprises.
